My Story

I was born in Monterey, California. Yes, I am a Cali girl at heart! But my family picked up and moved to St. Helena Island, South Carolina, when I was three, and we settled in Atlanta when I was 10. I have been in Atlanta for over 20 years, except for leaving for school. Atlanta is home.

I am the oldest of four siblings. As a child, I was an introvert, bright, and inquisitive. I was a good kid and strong-willed. At least, that's what my second-grade teacher told my mom. She said, "When April's mind is made up, it's made up. There's no changing it."

I thought, "Well, I still got the right answer. Does it matter how I got there?" Ha! But seriously, I have seen this statement manifest in my life. People can do anything they put their minds to. It doesn't matter where they started.

My childhood experiences greatly influenced my decision to work in the helping profession. I learned early on that taking care of myself was essential. Unbeknownst to me, my inquisitiveness would lead to my life's work.

I studied psychology and counseling in school. After finishing, I worked in the education services sector, including K-12 grade schools and higher education. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and my life shifted significantly. Amidst panic, uncertainty, and loss, I started my own business.

While building my business, God showed me how everything I experienced, good and bad, led me here. Trust me. You are right where you are supposed to be.

Today, I am a first-generation college graduate, doctor, and entrepreneur. Okay, enough of the sappy stuff. Mental health, wellness, and self-care are significant in my life. Through work and life experience, I have perfected how to help people take better care of themselves.
